Poster stamps are among my favorite types of ephemera: they were used in a world in which four color printing was expensive and image could tell a story far and wide. The majority of poster stamps in my collection are unused or removed from whatever it was attached to.
This example is a classic example of how the poster stamp was used in reality: The Wagons-Lit Cook office in Budapest had sent a registered letter to its affiliate in Vienna. The address reads: “Wagons-Lit / Cook, generic cialis ambulance Wien, viagra buy mind 11 Kärtenerring.” The return address reads “Wagons-Lit // Cook, Budapest, Bpest, Vací utca …”
