Two Luggage Labels by Erik Nitsche

Erik Nitche is best know for his work in the United State after 1939 for General Dynamics, discount cialis here where he relocated before World War 2. Before moving to the United States he did work in Europe for a number of clients. The advertising campaign was designed by Erik Nitsche before he left for the United States. Nistsche was born in Lausanne, cialis sales  Switzerland from a family of artists. Paul Klee was a friend of his family and influenced Nitche’s decision to study art. Nitche studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule (Arts & Crafts School) in Munich and working in Germany and Paris. While in Paris he was heavily influenced by art-deco but ultimately connected more with the design ethos of the Bauhaus. Nitsche came to the United States in 1934.

These are luggage labels done for the company “Hotel Transatlantique,” one for Tunis and one for Ghardia.

Nitsche is best known for his later work in the 1950s for General Dynamics. See here and this article by Steve Heller. But while in Paris he created a line of luggage labels for the Hotel Transatlantique company in North Africa, many of which I have in my collection.
